| Project
Outline: |
|
NRB’s 5000 Series steel and concrete construction design, provided the structural integrity and permanence required for this centre in a shorter timeframe than conventional construction. The new center was designed to complement the existing facility; steel siding and trim were chosen to blend with the existing brick structure and windows were custom fabricated to match as well.
The interior features include stainless steel detention-grade plumbing fixtures and epoxy coated floors, walls and ceilings in the shower area. To achieve the higher level security requested by the owner, level 4 bullet resistant glazing wall and maximum security door hardware was installed at the guard station. The expanded mesh steel was added under vandal proof walls. A customized detention-grade ceiling was incorporated in the building design and the modular mate line finish was adapted on-site. |
