Outline: |

When the County needed to expand their Detention Center quickly, NRB’s permanent modular construction with its expedited schedule provided the solution. The facility houses both a medium security, 24 man work-release dormitory as well as a 10 cell maximum security women’s jail. NRB and the owner worked together to design a layout that permitted a single view point for the guards for both areas, while maintaining complete seclusion between the prisoners.
Pre-poured concrete floors and structural steel construction were used in the design to give the owner the strength, durability and performance they require for years to come. The interior finishes include sealed concrete floors, reinforced steel walls with fiberglass reinforced panels, security windows, high grade detention type ceiling and stainless steel penal fixtures. The guard area includes level 4 protective glazing and maximum security door hardware. The exterior is finished in full brick and matches the existing structure.
