The client required almost 20,000 square feet of temporary
office space adjacent to their existing facility.
Building
Size:
19,560 square
feet, in 29 modules
Time
to Complete:
From start of production to completion on site, 8 weeks.
Project
Outline:
Special attention
was required to ensure the temporary addition maintained
the client's corporate image, particularly as the addition
sat adjacent to a multi-million dollar modern pharmaceutical
facility. In order that the exterior appearance compliment
the existing structure, NRB used special vertical steel
siding, a 36"-wide steel fascia and large windows
for the correct look.
In an effort to moderate costs yet
still provide an architecturally pleasing appearance,
the building was constructed using wood framing with
a structural steel floor assembly for extended durability.
The structural steel framed floor assembly allows it
to be placed lower to the ground without potential deterioration
of wood product due to moisture penetration. This also
means that ramps may be shortened because of the lower
elevations.
The transverse roof design, along
with the identical module size and open concept design
allows for complete future flexibility in re-use and
re-configuration.
