Project Summaries
Security & Control Buildings

Project Summary #1054009:
Guard House, Challenger Motor Freight, Cambridge, Ontario.
Client Need:

The client required a central security guard house for a large transportation depot.

Building Size:
250 square feet.
Time to Complete:
From start of production to completion on site, 2 weeks.
Project Outline:

As the mainstay of security operations at this large transportation depot, this NRB Guard House is designed to protect security staff that control vehicular and pedestrian traffic at this 24/7 operation.

The interior bi-level floor is raised so that security staff are elevated to truck cab height for ease of communication and document transfer both in-coming and out-going. The Guard House is totally self-contained, so the guards can monitor the premises in all directions without leaving their posts. Sliding and insulated glass windows and metal doors are located on both sides of the building.

Built in the NRB factory, delivered to the site and craned into position on an existing 10' x 25' perimeter foundation, it is designed to provide an efficient working environment for Security Officers, and is also equipped for comfort with air conditioning and a built-in two piece washroom.

The exterior of the building was designed using NRB's FP1 aluminum panel system on the front elevation, to match the finish of existing buildings on the site. The interior finish consists of vinyl tile floor, vinyl covered drywall and suspended acoustical ceiling.

This Guard House is one of many styles, sizes and option packages available from NRB.
