As a result of a combined Federal and Provincial Government initiative to fulfill a longstanding commitment to provide the people of Walpole Island First Nation with a new, permanent police services building, NRB was chosen to replace the old and dilapidated existing structure with a new building more reflective of the community and its immediate needs. The building was finished in architectural stone to blend in with the community.

A turnkey project, the modular police services building was transported to site in prefabricated sections about 85% completed so time to build and site disruption were kept to a minimum.
