Project: Community Hebrew Academy of Toronto
Location: Richmond Hill, ON
Building Size: 28,000 sq. ft.
Experiencing rapid growth for many years, this private school needed to solve a crowding issue with more classroom space. In 1997, a number of standard portable classrooms temporarily aided the situation; however, a year later, a multi-classroom complex was developed to address their growing needs. Being extremely pleased with the flexibility and compressed time frame of modular construction, the client requested an addition to the school using NRB’s latest modular building technology.
NRB’s steel and concrete building methods provided the permanence and performance of conventional construction methods in a fraction of the time, which the client needed. The 64 modules comprising the building were engineered and built with our 5000 series structural steel and a pre-poured concrete floor system. The entire exterior was created to blend in perfectly with the existing school and all features and finishes were installed at the plant, ensuring that time spent on the site and the resulting disruption was kept at a minimum.
