Grimsby Executive wins International
Business Award
April 14, 2005 -- Laurie Robert,
Vice-President of Sales and Marketing for NRB Inc., was recently
awarded The 2004 Outstanding Achievement Award from the Modular
Building Institute (MBI). The award was presented during the
evening banquet at the 23rd Annual MBI Convention in Las Vegas
in March.
MBI is the International Trade Organization
for the Commercial Modular Building Industry. Its Outstanding
Achievement Award is given each year to one individual in
honour of exemplary contribution and service to the commercial
modular buildings industry and, in particular, to MBI. An
award of gratitude and appreciation, it is the industry's
most prestigious honour, and the highest award that MBI bestows
upon a member.
Laurie has certainly answered the call
through a long and substantial commitment to MBI, serving
on its Board of Directors since 1998. In 2000, she was named
Vice President, and in 2001 Laurie led MBI as President -
the first woman and first Canadian member ever to do so. Over
the years she has chaired two annual conventions, the Long
Range Planning, and Nominating Committee as Past President,
and in 2003, she headed up the Transition Committee that tackled
the challenge to search and recruit the Association's new
Executive Director. Laurie also serves as an Instructor for
MBI's regional training conferences, where she teaches courses
on professional and industry related selling. She is an active
participant in MBI's Northeast Council, where she offers input
on various legislative and regulatory issues. Laurie currently
serves as Chair of MBI's Public Relations & Marketing
Committee.
"Laurie Robert embodies the
attitude of a winner," says Tom Hardiman, Executive Director,
Modular Building Institute. "In whatever she does - be
it business, golf, or family life - she won't take on a task
unless she believes she can excel. When she does say 'Yes',
get out of her way, for you can be sure she will succeed."
NRB Inc., with its Head Office in
Grimsby, Ontario and its US facility in Ephrata, Pennsylvania,
is a leading manufacturer of modular buildings used in industrial,
commercial, institutional, educational and retail applications.
NRB celebrated its 25th anniversary in 2004.
